Our Senior Adult Ministry Team is a fellowship of visionary Christian leaders and vital Christian friends who celebrate the season of our senior years with vitality and vision for our future.  The Board of Laity of our Oklahoma Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church awarded our Senior Adult Ministry with the "It Worked For Us!" Award at our Annual Conference on May 31, 2005. This new Conference award was given to only one church in each of the 12 districts in honor of that church's leadership in designing and developing a new laity lead ministry in 2005. Lindsay United Methodist was the recipient for the Ardmore District recognition through the leadership of our Senior Adult Ministry, coordinated by Mrs. Leo (June) Elkins, and our United Methodist Men & United Methodist Youth leaders in the establishment of "The 4th Quarter Club" (special recognition ministry, spring banquet and fellowship activities for Senior Adults 75 years and older) and for the "Kairos Team" Ministry which provides support, care and assistance to our senior adults who require assistance with some minor home repair needs, the changing of batteries for smoke alarms and seasonal cleanup around their homes during the time of the "Time Change" (April & October each year). These new Senior Adult Ministry programs connected to our other senior adult fellowship gatherings throughout the year seek to offer the care and support for our senior adults in this season of life.
